The TaylorMade Burner Superfast driver is the latest edition in the hugely popular Burner range. The Burner 07 has proved the most successful driver in TaylorMade’s history but the Burner Superfast moves the franchise to a higher level.

Weighing only 284 grams, Burner SuperFast is the lightest, fastest driver TaylorMade has created. Designed to ­deliver increased clubhead speed and superior distance, the SuperFast also possesses the largest clubface of any TaylorMade driver — 14% larger than the 2009 Burner. "The larger face gives you more area to strike the ball with, which is a distinct advantage," says Todd Beach, TaylorMade senior director of metalwood development. The face features a new bulge and roll design that works with the higher moment-of-inertia head to maximize off-center hits.

 

As 4500 square millimetres the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast driver has the largest clubface of any TaylorMade driver giving the average player a much larger face to strike the ball with. The new bulge and roll design works with TaylorMade’s much admired Inverted Cone Technology to ensure that distance and forgiveness survive even off centre hits. TaylorMade have also introduced a longer, lighter Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft. This promotes more ball speed and more spin for extra distance while at 46.5 inches it encourages a wide and fast swing arc.

 

A new Winn Lite grip, weighing just 30 grams, save the Burner SuperFast even more weight without sacrificing anything in terms of performance. The lightest driver that TaylorMade have ever produced the Burner SuperFast provides more zing at impact and the enhanced clubhead speed and distance are the best the Burner range has yet produced.

  Burner SuperFast Driver fits into the typical taylormade mould; it’s easy to hit, goes pretty straight and makes the right sound. For the money I think it is one of the best drivers out there.

  I had a Great Big Bertha before and had stopped playing golf regularly years ago. I started back to once or twice per month this past summer. I hit the GBB about 330-350 yards and now I hit the Superfast 370 . It's a good club for me as I am tall- 6'4"- and the shaft is longer than others on the market. If I have one complaint (and it's not a legitimate one) it is that the club is deafeningly loud when I hit the ball. It's so loud that it literally makes your ears ring like after a gunshot. Either way I do like the club and would recommend it to any average golfer that likes to hit long off the tee.
